Our Story.
Our story was born through prayer to God. In asking Him for guidance we received an answer indeed bringing success, joy and unbelievable fruit of Harvest.
In the Bible, The Word of God says “Let there be light: and there was light.” Genesis 1:3
So our idea being born out of the Word of God, being and bringing literal Light in the form of a candle into this world was a key moment.
We believed in this calling, undertook the journey and are still going on strong today. Amen!
Our 1st Candle.
Being filled with optimism and barely any experience we dived into the deep with plenty research, lots of reading, watching videos on social media platforms, checking candle companies and of course finally attempting to try and produce our 1st candle.
We remember it like it was yesterday. AIKOS 1st candle was made in the form of a rose out of 100% pure soy wax. It wasn’t that messy, didn’t know what to expect and somehow managed. I even remember being tense and shaky when peeling off the mould of the candle. But it peeled off well, it looked aesthetic AND it burnt very well. So the rest is history. We continued experimenting filled with optimism- with other shapes, forms, scents and ideas.
Now
Having an artistic background and an Art degree has helped me greatly into developing the brand’s vision of AIKOS, I would now like to share with you. Living and travelling worldwide has enabled me to understand different cultures, concepts and lifestyles translating and conveying them into a modern art objects made with a twist of well being, tradition and eco sensibility. Becoming a wife, a mother, a friend and a helper in need has also changed my perspective on life and well being -taking into consideration that quality will always lead- not quantity. Not to mention that in any job you need a lot of patience, persistence and composure. Creating a candle is like working with a child. You form it in the image you would like it to represent and follow -but within it there is an distinct merit of own individuality and identity.
For now we have kept the visual design, including the packaging of our candles looking simple. Some may even look slightly rustic (depending on the style of candle). The point is we have chosen to focus mainly on the essence of high quality ingredients used -rather than selling a pretty image with an empty promise. That’s Right- our candles are sturdy in design, but of a high quality standard. I hope our candles brings you joy, happiness, calmness , relaxation and vitality.
The Future
Organic, natural and pure materials such as soy wax, organic essential oils( just a few to name) will always be chosen on the market by many because we value and understand what God has created and given us to use for a sustainable lifestyle and a positive welfare. With this said we hope that you enjoy our candles, designs and a interpretation of a Godly given vision to us.
